Try to imagine living in a beautiful country where despite losing your mother at age 11, you had a good childhood and a father determined to help you follow your dream of becoming a doctor. As time progresses you build a successful rural clinic improving the lifes of many women. Now imagine your country is pushed into a brutal civil war almost destorying your way of life. You’re kidnapped, your life is threatened and 90,000 people come to live on your large farm for sanctuary.
This is the amazing journey Dr. Hawi Abdi has taken. Despite all this she has remained strong and built her clinic into a hospital where she is helped by her own children who are now doctors.
